So, my choice for Wonders of the World... Dogs!
Humans and dogs have been companions for 15,000 years or more.
Imagine that.
The furry little body snuggled up against my feet right now -- her place has been filled by generations upon generations upon generations of dogs, all of whom have done the same things. They have protected us. We have helped to feed them. Dogs provide companionship. We reciprocate. They helped us hunt. We shared the spoils. They guarded our children. We raised their pups. And while some may argue that I am anthropomorphizing here... well, we love dogs, and I hold that they love us.
Our house without a dog was sad and lonely. With a dog: we have a home and a family.
So, here's to the wonder of dogs!
